CHAPTER ONE

Introduction

1.1 Objectives of Internship

The objective of this internship is to make the intern put in practice the skills he attains during training. The intern is expected to expose all the skills he learnt in class and learn new ideas.

The intern’s industrial attachment is a mandatory requirement, for the completion of the degree program of the Moi University, which aims to give the intern the necessary hands on skills and experience in the field of study, and also expose the intern to the current market.

It’s required that the intern be attached to an established organization, institution, or industry whose business processes and operations are relevant to the intern’s profession.

It is hoped that by doing so, the intern will acquire professional hands-on experience, the relevant skills and that by identifying problems and working them out, the attaché will learn and apply the theory knowledge gained in class and integrate them with the real life scenarios (practical).

Once attached, the intern is expected to work under a supervisor assigned to him/her, abide by the Institutes rules and regulations on attachment.

In regard to the course in Computer Science, the goal of the attachment is to give the trainee an opportunity to learn a wide variety of skills in the real work place.
